Mother’s Day has new meaning this year as moms have been doing more than ever.  With the pandemic, moms have had to learn how to work-from-home alongside their children learning-from-home.  They’ve had to get creative with the lack of social interaction/playdates.  They’ve probably played more than their share of board games!  With all mom has to share with everyone else, why not get her a personalized gift that’s just for her?   Here are some of our favorite Mother’s Day gift ideas for 2021:

Mommy Pads for Your Favorite Mom

18 Mar

Mommy PadsWith Mother’s Day coming up on May 14th, it’s a great time to start thinking about little gifts that would be meaningful (and helpful!) for your favorite mom. A personalized Mommy Pad is perfect for sending notes to document reasons a child might need to leave school or daycare early, arrive late, miss class or generally inform the teacher or care giver other details concerning a child.

Mommy Pads, as they are commonly referred to, are notepads which have a heading like “From the Mommy of” or “From the Mom of” or even “From the Dad of” or “From the Grandma of” — really any heading you want… and then often the child’s name (or children’s names) are listed with check boxes next to the name(s).  So, it’s easy to check the box(es) of who the note concerns when communicating with babysitters, teachers and daycare providers.

These notepads will help mom stay organized and communicate with flair. We have many designs so you can select something just perfect for your favorite mom.  If she’s more classic in style – we have lovely damask patterns.  Maybe she’s very youthful and fun and, if so, we offer very unique emoji-themes that not only she will like but her kids will love too!  There are a lot of offerings but no matter which you select, the pads will be very easy to use and will come in very handy.

The Stationery Studio offers many exclusive designs and styles you cannot find elsewhere. They are fully designed with mom (or dad or grandma) in mind.  A personalized Mommy Pad is an ideal gift for a mom with young kids through high school age kids. It makes a wonderful Mother’s Day present, birthday gift or a great gift for any occasion. It’s also a fun gift for yourself, for your daughter (if you are a grandma), for your sister or for a husband (from the Dad of, of course)!

Many Mommy Pads also offer optional envelopes help keep correspondence private to the party who is intended to read it! One thing is for certain – they will really be used and appreciated!

Best wishes,

Renee

Creating Your Unique Monogram

15 Sep

An individual’s monogram creates a unique and sophisticated appearance and they seem to be popping up everywhere.  You can often see monograms on clothing, home decor, printed napkins, jewelry, and of course on stationery and notepads.monograms-sept2015-001The proper order for a monogram is very important and should be carefully placed and composed with either formal script of block letters.  Monograms can either be straight across or together the letters might create a diagonal shape, an oval or a circle.

monograms-sept2015-002Sometimes when the left and right letters are placed into shapes the letters are flipped over and can have a unique appearance.  The easiest to read monogram are straight across whether interlocking or not.  There are luxury monograms featuring calligraphic elements and flourishes to create identity for businesses such as restaurants, hotels, fashion lines and more.

monograms-sept2015-003Everyone, young or old, male or female, married or unmarried, has a monogram.  The letters of the monogram represent the letters of your name or can represent your married name. The order of the letters appear in a very specific way. A monogram is generally three letters and they are either interlocking or combined in such as way to create a design.

monograms-sept2015-007For an individual’s monogram, the letter on the left represents a first name, the letter on the right is for a middle name and the large letter in the center is for a last name.  For example, Susan Lynne Miller would have this monogram:   SML.

monograms-sept2015-004For a married monogram, the letter on the left represents a woman’s first name, the letter on the right represents the man’s first name, and the large letter in the middle represents their shared last  name.  Therefore, if Ellen Marie Smith was married to Charles Adam Watson, their married monogram would be EWC.

For an LGBT relationship, determine the placement of the initials simply based on the couple’s preference and then middle larger initial would represent a shared last name.  If there is no shared last name consider using two same size initials to represent the two first names together or even consider using four initials to represent the first and last name of each person in the couple.

monograms-sept2015-005For a single person wanting same size initials, the letters would appear in the order of the name, such as Caroline Joy Thompson’s initials would be CJT and the letters would all be the same size.  The order of the letters in initials is different from a monogram in that the initials will go in the order of a name:  first name initial, then middle name initial, then last name initial.  Alternatively, married or engaged couples may use their two-letters representing their first names and place those letters together.  Again, this is referred to as initials rather than a monogram.  Initials on personalized note cards and other stationery are a popular option but the monogram remains the ultimate personalized preference for many.
