Go Fly A Kite! Inspiration for Today
Today is Kite Flying Day. While it isn’t exactly an ideal time to go fly a kite for us here in Chicago, we thought we’d find inspiration in our site. TheStationeryStudio.com is a place to get creative. We have personalized photo note cards, which are a great place to feature your kids and kids-at-heart after a fun kite-flying photo shoot. Our argyle patterns also show up on spiral notebooks, return address labels and more.
Here are a few fun facts on kite flying – which adults and children have enjoyed for thousands of years:
- Ben Franklin was perhaps the most well known kite flyer. He flew a kite in a thunderstorm and discovered electricity.
- Kites were first used by the military in ancient China over 3,000 years ago.
- Kites are the symbol for Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. We have officially-licensed Theta sorority custom gifts, including stampers and tech skins, which feature the Theta kite prominently.
So, if your spirits are soaring (and the weather is decent in your part of the country), go fly a kite today!
