Condolence Card Advice

If you have lost a lost a loved one, a printed condolence card, also known as sympathy cards and funeral thank you cards, is an opportunity for you to mail a personalized note card to those who have expressed their sympathies at a time when friends and family can be very meaningful.  Many of our cards are fold over notes so the outside of the cards are printed and the inside is a place you can either leave blank or write a little message of appreciation if you choose.

To help you find the right wording during such a difficult time, we would like to offer these suggestions:

Version 1:

You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want; smile, open your eyes, love and go on

Version 2:

Version 6:

Perhaps you sent a lovely card
or sat quietly in a chair

Perhaps you sent a floral piece
so we could see it there

Perhaps you spoke the kindness words

Perhaps you were not there at all
just thought of us that day

Whatever you did to console our hearts
We thank you so much whatever the part
