daughters first communion.\u00a0 My son also happened to make his confirmation so we had an opportunity to celebrate two big events at once!\u00a0 We hosted a party for family and close friends and I really enjoyed working on all the fun little touches to make the day special.\u00a0 I was inspired a lot by Pinterest and the great ideas you can find on there.\u00a0 I wanted to share some of my ideas for those of you planning a first communion or confirmation party.\u00a0 A lot of these ideas could be used for a bridal shower, a baby shower, graduation, birthday party &#8230; you get the idea.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/banner.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4165 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/banner-1024x582.jpg\" alt=\"banner\" width=\"490\" height=\"278\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/banner-1024x582.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/banner-300x170.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 490px) 100vw, 490px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To set the tone, I made this DIY banner to hang on my fireplace.\u00a0 I bought a pack of chalkboard banners and used a stencil.\u00a0 I used something called a permanent chalkboard marker to fill in the letters.\u00a0 I thought it added a very &#8220;Pinterest&#8221; looking accent!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/flowers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4169 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/flowers-730x1024.jpg\" alt=\"flowers\" width=\"490\" height=\"687\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/flowers-730x1024.jpg 730w, https:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/flowers-214x300.jpg 214w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 490px) 100vw, 490px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I love flowers and found these galvanized tins with tulips in them at my local hardware store.\u00a0 I simply added some Spanish Moss and put them at each table for dinner.\u00a0 You can give them to Godparents to take home, too!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/napkinsinvitation.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4172 size-large\" title=\"First Communion Invitation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thestationerystudio.com\/index.cfm\/fuseaction\/catalog.viewproduct\/productid\/45087\/catid\/0\/girl-cross-invitations.html\">First Communion Invitation<\/a> from The Stationery Studio.\u00a0 I loved the fresh, Spring look of the invite!\u00a0 I also used these <a title=\"First Communion Napkins\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thestationerystudio.com\/napkins\/first-communion-napkins-c1550.html\">first communion napkins<\/a> for appetizers, dessert and the drink station.\u00a0 I must have heard &#8220;Wow, these napkins are great!&#8221; at least 5 times that evening.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cups1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4179 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cups1-1024x817.jpg\" alt=\"cups\" width=\"490\" height=\"390\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cups1-1024x817.jpg 1024w, something my daughters did with their first communion class.\u00a0 But I thought they would be a great idea for any child making their first communion to do with their family by visiting your local clay painting store.\u00a0 They make wonderful decorations during the party and are a great keepsake from their special day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.thestationerystudio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/cookies.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4167 size-large\" of a party!\u00a0 These custom cookies were made at a local bakery.\u00a0 Everyone got to take home one after the party.\u00a0 You can always add <a title=\"Personalized gift tags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thestationerystudio.com\/gifts\/packaging\/gift-tags-c3147.html\">personalized gift tags<\/a> to make them even more special!<\/p>\n<p><a
