Today is Kite Flying Day.  While it isn’t exactly an ideal time to go fly a kite for us here in Chicago, we thought we’d find inspiration in our site.  TheStationeryStudio.com is a place to get creative.  We have personalized photo note cards, which are a great place to feature your kids and kids-at-heart after a fun kite-flying photo shoot.  Our argyle patterns also show up on spiral notebooks, return address labels and more.

Here are a few fun facts on kite flying – which adults and children have enjoyed for thousands of years:

• Ben Franklin was perhaps the most well known kite flyer. He flew a kite in a thunderstorm and discovered electricity.

• Kites were first used by the military in ancient China over 3,000 years ago.

• Kites are the symbol for Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.  We have officially-licensed Theta sorority custom gifts, including stampers and tech skins, which feature the Theta kite prominently.
